position paper presentations
Out of all the position paper presentations that i sat through and listened to, the one that was most effective to me was the one about social networking and safety features about social networks like Facebook. It was very effective because the presenter was very calm and collected while presenting and also the ideas that he shared were solid. I also love the fact that he created a website specifically designed to help people further understand the protection they can get from social networks and how to stay safe. So I must conclude that the social networks presentation and paper was very effective to me and probably for others to come as well.

My Research Project
I've been doing my research on world racism and i have been noticing many people are joining in and trying to end this problem. A couple big groups are: United Nations, Human Rights, and the WCAR- World Conference Against Racism. There are many many members of each one of these groups but I personally am a strong believer that nobody deserves to be abused about what race they are or where they are from. I have been reading a lot about this one group in particular, the WCAR. They have been doing this since 1997 and they have mapped out exactly what they want to happen. It was held in Durban, South Africa on the 31st of August since to September 7. The high commissioner was one of the attendees and she promised that she will make it a conference of actions not just words. So far this is most my main research about world racism.

my reading book
The book I am reading is called The Mist by Stephen King. In this story a vicious storm attacks the city and the storm turned out to be harvesting a mist. This mist had a certain power to it that created creatures, but nobody knew about these creatures until later on in the book. After the storm, there was a blackout that was in effect for three or four days, and thinking that the blackout would last much longer, everyone went to the supermarket to stock up on food. While at the supermarket, people noticed that the mist was rolling into the city rapidly. The mist was so thick you could not drive through it, so people decided to wait out the mist at the store. One courageous man tried to get to his car so he could get back to his family, but before he could reach his car, he came running back to the store screaming, saying he saw some sort of sci-fi creature. No one believed the man, they all thought he was crazy. But it turns out that all the scare was for a good reason. A little bit later in the book, the store gets attacked by these mist creatures. Fighting for his life and others in the store, David and a couple of his buddies fight off the mist creatures. Will they come out alive?

my reading book
The book that i am currently reading is The Mist by Stephen King. I am only into the third chapter sadly, but i have not wanted to put it down since i got it. Its about a town that gets hit by a massive storm that ransacked all the power lines and phone lines. The storm also left an ominous mist in its wake. Dave (the main character), Billy (his son), and Brent Norton (daves neighbor) headed off to the local store to stock pile on food because they thought the power was going to be off for a while. When they got there they soon realized that the store was packed with familiar faces. Well so far thats all i've got to in the story, but i'll write back again when i continue in my book.
